AI in Dysplasia Diagnostics

We have launched a pilot of Prelux at Gustav – Children’s Clinic.
It is a modern IT system that supports doctors in diagnosing hip dysplasia in infants. This is the most common musculoskeletal disorder in children – it is estimated to affect around 3% of them. Early detection is crucial for effective treatment.

• Prelux follows the recognized diagnostic standard – Professor Graf’s method.
• The system compares test results with a vast database of real ultrasound images.
• With artificial intelligence algorithms, Prelux analyzes ultrasound scans with remarkable precision.

Prelux truly supports doctors

Although the final diagnosis always rests with the specialist, this dedicated software is a valuable tool in everyday medical practice. It facilitates the assessment of difficult cases, minimizes the risk of oversights, and supports physicians in decision-making.

The pilot is conducted under real-world conditions at Gustav – Children’s Clinic, where special emphasis is placed on early diagnosis. The examination includes a physical assessment, hip ultrasound, and a full orthopedic evaluation of the infant. At the ultrasound analysis stage, Prelux comes into play:

1. Artificial intelligence algorithms analyze ultrasound images in real time.
2. The system generates a report with a diagnostic suggestion including hip type classification and recommendations for further steps.
3. Guided by the report’s insights, the doctor makes the final diagnostic decision and implements the appropriate therapy plan.

A mission for the youngest

The ongoing Prelux pilot, along with clinical research and additional tests, will help confirm the high effectiveness and usefulness of the solution. At Pentacomp, we believe this is a mission-driven project, as its wide-scale implementation can truly improve children’s health in Poland and worldwide, and reduce the number of complex hip surgeries. The software will not replace doctors – but it provides them with invaluable support.
